The Health Hub in the new COVID reality
We encourage you to keep up with your regular healthcare professional visits, especially those of you with chronic issues, to prevent more serious health conditions further down the track.
Our Health Hub dental team remains on duty during this crisis and beyond, so you don’t have to postpone a dental emergency, or neglect your routine dental care.
All optical services are available including clinical testing, glasses ordering, contact lens ordering and general sales. We’ve reduced the availability of appointments to manage the number of people within the building and maintain social distancing and we’re offering free postage for delivery of purchases.
Our infection control procedures are of high hospital standard. The Health Hub is accredited against national safety standards however, you can expect to see a number of changes when you next visit.
We’ve increased signage to raise awareness of how COVID-19 is spread, proper hand hygiene and social distancing reminders. We’ve removed some chairs from waiting areas to accommodate social distancing. Magazines and brochures have also been removed as they can’t be regularly cleaned. We now have Perspex screens on all reception desks and hand hygiene stations positioned around the Hub for patients and staff to use.
We’ve also put other measures in place that you may not see, but are important for everyone’s safety and comfort.
- Everyone is screened for cold and flu symptoms and relevant travel history at the time of booking as well on check-in.
- Surfaces, workstations, exercise equipment and pens are disinfected regularly.
- Dentists, dental assistants and dental hygienists wear extra protective equipment.
- Dental patients receive an anti-viral pre-appointment mouth rinse.
We’ve been blown away by how respectful our patients have been during this challenging time. It’s fantastic to see how cooperative everyone has been. Practising good hand hygiene and adhering to proper social distancing is key to helping stop the spread of COVID19.
If you have flu-like symptoms, please call us on 1300 709 076 to reschedule your appointment. If you are considered to be of high risk (eg elderly or immunocompromised) please reconsider your need to have non-essential appointments at this time.
This keeps our staff healthy and able to continue to treat our wonderful patients.
